Pins

Another purchase I made off of Etsy.com:

Aren't these silk hair pins beautiful? They have a tiny pearl at the center, which will totally match with the pearl earrings and necklace! And the seller said that these are supposed to be hydrangeas (not sure about that), which are my new sis-in-law's favorite flower!

Necklace

OMG, how gorgeous is this necklace??

I love how it's pretty understated, but then there's this assymetrically-placed, funky flower! How fun! It's going to be so hard not to wear this before the wedding! Maybe I should lock it up with the wedding band, which is also tempting to wear...

I'm proud to say that I purchased all of my wedding jewelry. I saw what I liked on etsy.com, I updated my PayPal account and now I have some beautiful things coming in the mail for me! AND, I'm under budget!

Pearls & Crystal

I don't know much about jewelry - only what I like and don't like. I was really afraid that my pickiness with jewelry might bring a sour flavor to my future engagement... but it is my favorite piece of jewelry EVER! It was so great how Cyrus took my very rudimentary descriptions (through Sarah!) and came up with something really beautiful and simple.

So when it comes to my other wedding jewelry (aside from what I like and don't like), how will I know what fits? I've never worn a wedding dress before and have no idea what kinda stuff will look too casual or too heavy or what.

So I took another study break and did my first search on Etsy.com.

Here's set #1: Swarovski Pearls & Crystals

Earrings: $29.99
Necklace: $39.99

Set #2: Freshwater Pearls & Crystals

For the set (including a bracelet): $81.99

Hmm...They're pretty similar, huh? And they're made by the same seller...I guess I really like this pearl/crystal combo! Set #1 is a little more ornate and #2 is even less flashy. I just don't wanna look like I'm going to the homecoming dance, you know?

Come to think of it, I'm not that big on earrings and necklaces anyway...would it be so preposterous not to wear them at all for the wedding?? I guess it's hard if you don't know what the dress looks like...Hmm...

Any thoughts?

Bling! Blong!

When I hear the word "bling," I think about this hilarious and haunting video now:

Anyway... Last week, Cyrus and I went to the jeweler where Cyrus got my engagement ring (thanks to the recommendation by superhero couple Tina & Rob!). Check out International Exchange in Boston if you're curious. We purchased both of our rings that day, and what's more--we were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes! This guy's got a small little store but the selection is great! I found exactly what I was looking for.

Here's my description: I want to be able to wear the wedding band by itself, and I still want it to sparkle. I don't need sparkle all around, but I want it at the top.

Based on that, he showed us a bunch of rings, and in about a minute, I picked out one that looks sorta like this:

Whoa. That's a crazy picture. The diamonds probably aren't as big as the ones in the picture, but it's really beautiful and totally complements the engagement ring! Cyrus's is also manly and rugged - or, as rugged as a ring can be. :) He's got good taste.

Blong!
