I don't know much about jewelry - only what I like and don't like. I was really afraid that my pickiness with jewelry might bring a sour flavor to my future engagement... but it is my favorite piece of jewelry EVER! It was so great how Cyrus took my very rudimentary descriptions (through Sarah!) and came up with something really beautiful and simple.
So when it comes to my other wedding jewelry (aside from what I like and don't like), how will I know what fits? I've never worn a wedding dress before and have no idea what kinda stuff will look too casual or too heavy or what.
So I took another study break and did my first search on Etsy.com.
Here's set #1: Swarovski Pearls & Crystals
Earrings: $29.99
Necklace: $39.99
Set #2: Freshwater Pearls & Crystals
For the set (including a bracelet): $81.99
Hmm...They're pretty similar, huh? And they're made by the same seller...I guess I really like this pearl/crystal combo! Set #1 is a little more ornate and #2 is even less flashy. I just don't wanna look like I'm going to the homecoming dance, you know?
Come to think of it, I'm not that big on earrings and necklaces anyway...would it be so preposterous not to wear them at all for the wedding?? I guess it's hard if you don't know what the dress looks like...Hmm...
Any thoughts?

Hair
Here I am, supposed to be studying for my Massachusetts teacher certification test... but as I was rewarding myself for an hour and a half of quality study time with wedding blogging, I found this!
I'm trying to avoid really tight, done-up styles and want something kinda loose and romantic. Since I don't think my hair will be long enough to be left all the way down in loose curls, I think I may have to go for some kind of bun, and I love this one!
What do you think? Is it me?

First!
Cyrus and I got our first wedding gift last week from one of my mom's friends! How exciting!
I want us to stay on top of our thank you cards and everything... I read that it's a good idea to send thank you notes as gifts come in so that you're not stuck with writing hundreds of thank you cards after the honeymoon... But what do we write?
...Especially if the gift giver isn't on our guestlist? :-O

Fruit stamps!
We're getting ready to send our save the dates soon, and I was so happy that the only option for $.27 stamps were these tropical fruit stamps!
Yay, USPS!
I really wanted to send them this past Saturday, and Cyrus and I had unofficially decided to do so, but I couldn't get in touch with him that day before I wanted to send them. I thought about all the other times I was hasty about our wedding decisions, even small ones, and what lessons I'd learned (THERE'S NO RUSH...SERIOUSLY!), and decided to hold off.
And thank goodness I did because there were a few changes that he wanted to make! Phew!

Flour Pot
Our photographer, Laura from Laura Kay Photography sent us the cutest gift!
It's from Flour Pot Cookies - a cookie boutique that hand-makes their cookies! Check out their website for excellent gift ideas!
Also check out Laura's blog to see some of her handiwork. Deciding on Laura as our photographer was one of the easiest decisions we made early on in our planning. :)
And...I ate the cookie.

Two years!
It's been two years since we took that excursion into Georgetown in the freezing cold, ate at the only restaurant there that I knew at the time (Cafe La Ruche), and then watched "Little Miss Sunshine."
We had no idea that only two years later we'd be in the thick of planning our wedding!!
:D
